Privacy Policy
Oviqen is built so that your work stays with you. Your notes, tasks and diagrams live on your own computer. This page explains, plainly, the little that leaves it and why.
Who we are
Oviqen is a productivity app for Windows made by an independent developer ("we", "us"). For anything about your data, write to support@oviqen.com or use Technical Support inside the app.
What stays on your computer
Your notes, tasks, diagrams, attachments, conversations with the AI assistant, settings and the automatic backups the app makes are stored only on your computer. We cannot see them, and the app does not upload them to us. The one time any of it leaves your computer is when you ask the AI assistant something — see below.
What our server keeps
To give you an account, our server (run on Supabase) keeps:
- Your account: your e-mail address and a secure login. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and e-mail with us. Passwords are handled by Supabase and never visible to us.
- Your profile: the name, age, profession, language and first day of the week you enter in the app.
- Your plan: which plan you are on and the counters that go with it — for example how many linked note-task-diagram groups you have, or how much of Oviqen's own AI credit you used. These are numbers, not content.
- Support messages you send us from the app, so we can answer you.
A daily device count
Once a day the app sends a random device code, the platform (Windows) and the app version, so we know how many copies are in use. The code is generated on your computer and is not linked to your account.
The AI assistant
With your own API key (Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter): what you ask, and the parts of your notes, tasks or diagrams the assistant reads to answer, go directly from your computer to the provider you chose. They do not pass through our server. That provider's own privacy terms apply. Your key is kept on your computer in Windows' protected storage, is never sent to us, and is not included in backups or exports.
With Oviqen's own AI, when it is offered to you: your request goes through our server to Google's Gemini API, which processes it to produce the answer. Our server does not store or log the content; it records only sizes and token counts, to keep your credit balance.
AI answers can be wrong. Check anything important before you rely on it.
Updates and crash logs
The app asks our server whether a new version exists and downloads it from GitHub. If the app hits an error, it writes a log file in your Documents folder. That file stays on your computer; it is only sent to us if you choose to send it.
Who helps us run Oviqen
- Supabase — accounts and our server.
- Google — "Sign in with Google", and the Gemini API for Oviqen's own AI.
- GitHub — hosts the installer you download.
- The company that hosts this website.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
This website
This site uses no cookies and no analytics or tracking. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's servers when you open it.
How long we keep data, and deleting it
We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time
from Settings in the app: your account and the data linked to it are removed from our server. Your
local workspace stays on your computer until you delete it — it is in
%APPDATA%\Oviqen, and attachments are in your Documents folder. Export anything you want to
keep first.
Your rights
You can see and correct your profile in the app, export your workspace, and delete your account. You can also ask us for a copy of what our server holds about you, or to correct or delete it, by writing to support@oviqen.com. If you live in the EU or the UK you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Oviqen is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Where data is processed
Our service providers may process data outside your country. We choose providers that protect it with recognised safeguards.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app when the change matters.
